Solutions for modern agriculture and plant biotechnology.
The Plant-Pathogen Interaction Laboratory executes research projects that immediately, medium or long-term accelerate the processes of obtaining new varieties with resistance to fungi, bacteria and phytopathogenic viruses. In close relation with the mentioned projects, it carries out basic studies of the resistance / response of plants to biotic factors. To fulfill these tasks, he uses all the tools and techniques available at the international level, including the use of model organisms.
Systems for the early selection of resistance
Isolation and characterization of secondary metabolites of commercial interest. Use of in vitro culture techniques to overexpress their production
Strategies for the protection of plants and genetic improvement
